The self-employment track is designed to assist
our candidates in determining if starting their own business or becoming a
full time contractor is a viable career move. Candidates meet with their personal
consultant to determine if there is a serious interest in looking at the options
of either starting their own business or becoming a full-time contractor.
Some of the preliminary issues that could be discussed include:
- What kind of business is being considered?
- Has the candidate conducted preliminary research on this type of business?
- Would the candidate be comfortable with an uncertain income stream?
- Has the candidate discussed this with family members and what do they
think?
- Does the candidate have sufficient cash reserves to support themselves
during the start up phase?
- Is the candidate willing to go through this entire process?
The Self Employment Track incorporates a series of filtering levels from
assessments, development of a business plan to a panel discussion of leading
experts. These steps are designed to aid our candidates in decision-making
and preparation for this career choice.
